Specimen case, [ca. 1880].

Case contains samples of sewing cotton and wooden spools. Spools represented include: white birch, squared stick, blank spool, blank bored spool, turned spool, and knurled spool. Cotton for carding is shown with samples of raw cotton from a bale, cotton from a lapper, cotton from a card, and cotton at various stages of being processed for thread. Samples of cotton for spinning, several types of yarn, crochet cotton, and bleached and dyed spooled threads are also present.
